Another famous startup in the EU is Aleph Alpha, founded by Jonas Andrulis, a former member of the AI team at Apple. Notably, the startup already sells generative AI as a service to 10,000+ paying customers across companies and governments.
Many Europeans firmly believe in the necessity for a strong contender to challenge America's prevailing influence, and this sentiment extends beyond economic considerations. Within the local AI community, a prevailing argument suggests that European companies may inherently prioritise data privacy and anti-discrimination measures more than their counterparts in the United States.
