Let’s go! < ![endif]--> 🔦 Last Week In AI🔦 Claude's Huge Upgrade Anthropic has taken a groundbreaking leap in AI advancement with the introduction of 'computer use' capability in its latest Claude 3.5 Sonnet model. This new feature enables Claude to interact with computers by viewing screens, moving cursors, and executing commands – much like a human user would. The details: Claude 3.5 Sonnet can now control computers by understanding screenshots and moving the mouse, allowing it to use real software instead of just chatting. Instead of making separate tools, Anthropic taught Claude to use computers like humans do, allowing it to research, automate tasks, and test software independently. In the OSWorld benchmark, which assesses AI models' ability to use computers in a human-like manner, Claude 3.5 Sonnet scored 14.9% significantly higher than the next best AI system at 7.8%. Developers can access these features through the Anthropic API, Amazon Bedrock, and Google Cloud's Vertex AI, setting the stage for a new wave of AI-powered applications. Why it matters: This development represents a fundametal shift in AI capabilities. AI is no more limited to to text-based interactions with humans it can interact woth computers as well. While the technology is still in its early stages, it opens up new possibilities for automation and human-AI collaboration across various industries and applications. Act-1 Of Film-Making Revolution Runway launched 'Act-One', which enables creators to transfer facial expressions from real video footage to AI-generated characters using nothing more than a standard camera. The details: Act-One can copy detailed facial movements, from tiny changes in expression to where the eyes look, making AI characters move and react more naturally like real people. Runway can now work with any camera and filming style, so that creators can make dynamic videos without buying expensive special equipment for capturing movements. Act-One allows creators to move realistic characters using text , images and videos. One person can now act as many different characters with unique looks and body shapes, helping small-budget filmmakers create more with less money. Runway has put up strong safety features to prevent misuse of famous people's faces and voices, making sure the technology is used responsibly and legally. Why it matters: Act-One makes high-end character animation accessible to creators who previously couldn't afford it, potentially changing independent filmmaking and content creation through AI-powered tools.
