Meta, has launched three new AI-powered smart glasses: Ray-Ban Display, Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2), and Oakley Meta Vanguard. These glasses aim to blend technology seamlessly into your everyday life. Key Details: The Ray-Ban Display glasses show apps, photos, and directions on the right lens and can be controlled using a special Neural Band wristband. The Neural Band reads tiny muscle signals, allowing you to control messages, calls, music, and navigation with simple finger movements, all without touching your phone. Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) records videos in super clear 3K quality, and can translate conversations live. It comes in new styles like Wayfarer, Skyler, and Headliner. Oakley Meta Vanguard glasses are made for athletes, featuring a 12MP camera, 3K video, slow motion, special microphones for windy conditions, and helps in fitness tracking.  Why It Matters:   These new glasses show Meta's strong belief that smart wearables, powered by AI, are the next big thing after smartphones. By offering a range of glasses with different features and price points, Meta is making a big move to integrate AI and augmented reality into our daily lives, potentially changing how we interact with technology and the world around us. This could open up many new opportunities for app developers and content creators.   Source - Meta Google Creates Open-Source Payments System for AI Apps Google has launched a new open-source payment system that lets AI apps send and receive money. This system works with both regular payment methods, like credit cards, and digital currencies that are tied to real assets (like the US dollar). Key Details: Google created a secure way for AI assistants to make purchases by using special digital contracts that prove what you actually asked for and agreed to buy. You can either approve purchases in real-time or set up rules ahead of time (like "buy concert tickets when they go on sale) and let the AI handle it automatically. Every purchase creates a permanent, unchangeable record so there's always proof of what was ordered and paid for - no surprises or disputes. Google partnered with Coinbase for cryptocurrency payments and worked with American Express, Etsy, and over 60 other companies to build this system. This builds on Google's existing AI framework and prepares for a future where AI agents can handle money matters just like human financial advisors. Why It Matters:   By setting a standard for how AI agents handle payments, Google is bringing together stable digital currencies and traditional banking in one system. This could make digital currency more common, boost shopping and business done directly by AI, and push other tech companies to create their own matching payment systems. This is a big step towards a future where AI handles many of our financial tasks.
