At MIT Technology Review, I write about how tech is changing the way we relate to each other and our institutions, and how democracy is struggling to keep up. Polarization, inequality, and misinformation of course existed long before the internet. But surveillance, platforms, and algorithms are reshaping our social contract, and I hope this newsletter offers insight into this complicated space.

I'll do my best to bring thoughtful stories, diverse viewpoints and expert analysis, and I want to hear from you too. Let me know what you like, what you don't like, what you're reading and what questions you want answered! This community is ours to shape.
