The ECM Framework [Expert-Creative Matrix]

As you know, I’ve been tinkering with ChatGPT every single day. In this process, I keep finding ways to extract much better results to share with you all. This particular framework is one of my favorites.

This 2 x 2 matrix below helps you decide the best role to assign your AI in order to get phenomenal results.

Oh, and in case you’re wondering, I coined the name of this framework. You won’t find it elsewhere. 😉

A) The Expert Consultant Role
When you know your subject well and are looking to think outside the box, engage with ChatGPT as an expert or a consultant, and generate unique & high-quality outputs that cater to your specific needs.

1. Marketing: “Brainstorm 5 unique marketing campaign themes for our new sustainable fashion line targeting Gen-Z consumers.”

2. Fitness: “Create 3 options for a flexible, effective workout routine for work-from-home professionals focusing on posture correction and stress relief.”

3. Education: “Suggest 10 innovative, hands-on learning activities for teaching high school students about environmental science.”

B) The Assistant Role
When you know your subject well and need to get the less creative & bulk work done, treat ChatGPT as an “Assistant” or “Intern”. Once you get the response, quickly refine & polish the responses according to your needs, since you know exactly what you want and how you want it.

1. Social Media: “Generate four weeks' worth of daily social media post captions for our bakery's Instagram, focusing on our homemade chocolate cookies based on ."

2. Fitness: "Create a comprehensive weekly workout tracking sheet for clients in a weight loss training program."

3. Education: "Generate a set of 10 challenging algebra questions for a 10th-grade class."

C) The Coach Role
When you are new to a field or subject area, but need to do something creative & difficult, assign ChatGPT the "Coach" role. Ask it to guide you step-by-step in generating new ideas or concepts, learning as you go.

1. Social Media: "Teach me how to craft a compelling brand on instagram for a sustainable clothing brand."

2. Fitness: "Help me understand and create a balanced weekly meal plan for someone trying to eat healthier."

3. Education: "Teach me in detail, strategies for teaching fractions to a 4th-grade student in an engaging way."

D) The Superviser
When you are just new to a field or subject area, but need to do something that requires diligence in execution, treat ChatGPT like your “Supervisor”. Ask it to guide you step-by-step on the exact steps necessary for completing a project.

1. Social Media: "Guide me through the exact steps of creating an instagram ad with examples."

2. Fitness: "Create a detailed 4-week beginner's full-body strength workout routine & provide a well-formatted checklist for monitoring progress."

3. Healthy Recipes: "Create a step by step recipe for making a healthy fruit & nuts oatmeal."

By effectively categorizing tasks and understanding how to use ChatGPT in each scenario, you can unlock the full potential of this powerful AI tool. Remember, learning how to ask the right questions is key to getting the most out of ChatGPT.

Bonus Pro Tip: Couple any of these prompts with this “master question” & get 10x better responses every single time- “What info will you need from me to provide a highlight specific and valuable response.”
