As you may know, in each new issue of the magazine we explore a different theme, interrogating a topic from a variety of angles. For our July/August issue we took on Accessibility.

The issue, which was guest-edited by Ashley Shew, author of Against Technoableism: Rethinking Who Needs Improvement, looks at the ways in which technology can provide access (or in some cases hinder it) across a variety of fronts. One of my favorite stories in this issue is by Chancey Fleet, on her work at the New York Public Library to make images accessible to everyone.

We also have stories on assistive devices, sonification, immigration, climate change, and an absolutely killer comic. Subscribe and save 25% to receive a print edition of the Accessibility issue and digital access to those in-depth stories as well as our ongoing reporting on topics ranging from AI to Energy to Biotech and more.
