The highlights included their much-hyped (and leaked) text-to-video AI Sora, enhanced reasoning model o1, and significant (like really significant) ChatGPT upgrades. Each day brought meaningful advancements to their AI ecosystem. Everything OpenAI released so far: o1 Model: A faster, smarter AI that "thinks before responding" with combined image/text processing. Fine-tuning: Allows users to train o1 on their datasets, letting companies create AI models specialized for their specific field (like Reuters' legal assistant). Sora: Text-to-video generator creating up to 20-second videos with style presets and editing features. ChatGPT Canvas: Collaborative workspace where ChatGPT acts as a writing/coding assistant with real-time feedback. ChatGPT x Apple Intelligence: Access ChatGPT directly through Siri and iOS features without needing an OpenAI account. ChatGPT Advanced Voice Mode: Real-time video chat with ChatGPT for interactive guidance and feedback. You can also talk to Santa Claus throughout December. ChatGPT Projects: Organization tool for storing files, chats, and custom instructions in themed workspaces. Gemini 2.0 and Other Launches by Google Google jumped into the AI party with Gemini 2.0, basically saying "anything ChatGPT can do, we can do too!" Besides screen-sharing and webcam chats, it can create images, speak in multiple languages, and even help gamers level up. Plus, there's a coding buddy for developers. Enhanced reasoning and built-in tools (Google Search, Maps, Lens). 2x faster performance compared to Gemini 1.5 Pro. 10-minute conversation memory with personalization. App for desktop.
