People are already testing it out and sources have confirmed that security team is doing the final checks; so it must be almost ready. Key Details: GPT-5 is expected to combine the best parts of older AI models with new, super-smart reasoning skills. OpenAI may offer smaller, faster versions of GPT-5, called “mini” and “nano,” through its API. OpenAI also plans to release its first 'open-source' model since GPT-2, though it's unclear if this will happen before or after GPT-5.
