GLOSSARY: How to Earn Extra $15000 from GenAI

Can ChatGPT Make You Rich? AIM asked this question not so long ago and, to our disappointment, noticed that it was just a bunch of paid advertisements trying to shove different courses down your throats.

AI money, for real?

A few days ago, we came across a similar post, albeit slightly different this time. We noticed that it had a ‘price tag’ attached to it. “ChatGPT and Canva can help you earn an extra $15,000/month,” read the post by a self-proclaimed career guru, Priyank Ahuja. His following posts were a series of video demonstrations on using the tools for simple tasks like designing T-shirts, creating Instagram creative ads, and making YouTube Shorts. Read on.

To understand this better, AIM reached out to Ahuja. He explained that the numbers were derived from his conversations with five to six experts who used Canva on a daily basis.

It’s undeniable that AI tools can finally be used for free to acquire new skills and enhance your work, potentially leading to higher earnings.

Earning in millions

AI art has now become mainstream, as demonstrated by artists like Refik Anadol, a Turkish-American new media artist who merges art and AI to create captivating installations.

Anadol’s work includes transforming the Las Vegas Sphere into the world’s largest AI artwork and having his installation ‘Unsupervised’ displayed at MoMA in New York. His success stems from collaborations with hardware and software providers, using tools like NVIDIA Omniverse to handle vast data sets.

'Living Architecture' by Anadol was the only digital artwork auctioned at Christie's on May 11, 2022, for $1.38 million.

Earning in thousands

Other artists, like Sougwen Chung and Trevor Paglen, also explore AI in diverse ways, highlighting AI art’s potential beyond mere prompt engineering. At London's Gillian Jason Gallery, a series of four of Chung's robot collaborations is priced at over $131,000 per image.

Back home, a 19-year-old artist, Ashok Reddy sold around 100 AI-generated art pieces in just two days! He sold A4-size pieces for INR 400 and A3-size pieces for INR 700 on Bengaluru’s Church Street.

Remarkably, Reddy gathered all this knowledge through online resources, without attending any college courses. He recommended using Midjourney and highlighted the inspiration and learning opportunities provided by platforms like Twitter and other online communities.

NIRF Rankings are Totally Flawed

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), India's premier ranking system for higher education institutions, has come under scrutiny for its opaque and often questionable methodologies and continues to remain controversial for a decade now.

One of the most contentious issues, as pointed out by Achal Agrawal, an assistant professor at Sitare University, is NIRF’s emphasis on peer reputation. This holds a 10% weightage in the overall ranking. The parameter is determined through a survey, the details of which are not disclosed, leading to concerns around its transparency and reliability.
