Let’s go!  Last Week In AI   Klarna Rehires Humans After AI’s Failure   Sweden’s Fintech giant, Klarna is reintroducing human customer service agents after its AI-driven support model failed to meet quality expectations, despite initially replacing 700 workers with OpenAI-powered systems.   Technical Context: • Klarna initially replaced 700 human jobs with AI and praised it for matching human satisfaction scores. • Quality dropped as cost-cutting took priority over experience • Klarna is now piloting an Uber-style remote support model • AI remains central to backend operations • Workforce expected to shrink to 2,500 (from 3,000)   Why It Matters: Klarna’s shift shows that AI can’t fully replace people in customer service—but the company still sees AI as the future, just with a more balanced approach.   To learn more, check this post. Big AI Reveals in Google I/O 2025   Google I/O, the company's annual developer conference, recently concluded in mid-May. Led by CEO Sundar Pichai, the event primarily showcased the overall integration and advanced capabilities of Google's AI models across its product ecosystem. Technical Context: • AI Mode in Google Search: Get answers to long queries directly in Google Search and follow-up with questions. • AI Shopping: Virtually try-on clothes and ask the AI to buy it if you like the fit. • New Filmmaking tool: Describe your scene and Flow will create an 8-second video with full audio. • Real-time Translation: Google Meet brings real-time speech translation during meetings. • Search Live: Allows real-time camera-based conversations with Google Search. • Project Mariner: Can browse, scroll, fill forms, etc. by watching you in action just once. • AI XR Glasses: Navigate your route, translate speech, and recall what you saw in real-time. • Upgrades to Current AI Tools:   • Imagen 4 delivers improved images with better text rendering.   • Veo 3 becomes the first video model with native sound generation.   • Gemini 2.5 gets a Deep Think mode for complex tasks.   Why It Matters: This update transforms traditional job hunting by allowing users to discover opportunities based on qualifications and aspirations rather than rigid keyword matches, potentially making career transitions more intuitive.   Watch my Instagram video to learn more.
