US President Donald Trump is thrilled. His longtime friend and Oracle CEO Larry Ellison is now at the centre of America’s AI revolution. During the announcement of The Stargate Project, a $500 billion initiative to supercharge AI infrastructure, Trump declared Ellison the “CEO of everything”.

And honestly? He’s not wrong.

Oracle is now building massive AI data centres across the US, teaming up with OpenAI, NVIDIA, and SoftBank to cement American dominance in AI. The first mega-complex in Texas is already underway, and there are plans to scale up quickly. Investors are overjoyed. Oracle’s stock jumped 13%, and Ellison’s fortune got a hefty boost.

Then comes TikTok. Trump is open to Ellison (or Elon Musk) buying a stake in the social media giant, and Oracle – already TikTok’s cloud provider – is watching closely. With Microsoft losing its exclusive OpenAI deal, Oracle is also stepping up as a major AI cloud player.

But here’s the twist: Ellison’s pal Musk is not part of The Stargate Project. Notably, xAI walked away from a $10 billion Oracle deal last year. A little tech-world tension? Read to find out.

Meanwhile, in India…

As the US races ahead with The Stargate Project, which will bring together AI powerhouses like Ellison, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son, India is still debating its AI game plan.

HCL co-founder Ajai Chowdhry warned that without a strong AI doctrine and control over its data, India risks falling behind in the global AI arms race. Meanwhile, tech leaders like Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas are calling for homegrown foundational AI models and challenging Infosys’ Nandan Nilekani’s stance on building atop existing systems.

With China’s DeepSeek-R1 model setting new benchmarks, Indian startups and researchers are pushing for serious AI investment and large-scale initiatives. Some have been advocating for an ‘Indian Project Stargate’, while others see global partnerships as the way forward. One thing is clear – India needs a decisive AI strategy, and it needs it now.

[AI Startup Corner] Giving Your Car a Mind of Its Own

Bengaluru-based AI startup KOGO recently launched India’s first universal voice assistant for automobiles, which is capable of doing far more than Siri or Alexa. Instead of just fetching information, Kogo’s AI is able to take a wide range of actions, from adjusting your car’s climate control to booking flights.

Kogo is partnering with MapmyIndia to integrate advanced geo-intelligence to offer seamless navigation and enterprise logistics. Unlike traditional voice assistants tied to specific platforms, Kogo’s agentic mesh framework makes it platform-agnostic, allowing millions of apps and services to communicate. With four major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) already testing the technology and semiconductor integrations in the pipeline, KOGO is gearing up to redefine in-car AI.

The future? – AI agents that don’t just assist but solve complex problems independently. If KOGO gets it right, your car won’t just listen – it’ll think.

[AI Breakthrough] ChatGPT Moment for AI Agent Arrives

OpenAI just unveiled Operator, an AI agent that can navigate the web like a human – clicking, scrolling, and even making purchases without API integrations.

But it is not without flaws: In a live demo, Operator fumbled a restaurant booking, proving that while it’s powerful, it’s far from perfect. Moreover, safety concerns loom. Can an AI be trusted not to fall for scams? OpenAI says yes, thanks to built-in safeguards.

Currently, only US Pro users ($200/month) can try it, but wider access is coming. Is this the future of AI assistants?
