Mike Loukides brings you this month's catch of fresh tech in AI, web, security, biology, and more. Here are a few highlights.
Anthropic has released the first two models in the Claude 4 series, but they may drop a dime on you if they catch you breaking bad. Also a little creepy: ChatGPT is now customizing its behavior by remembering your conversations, so don't say anything you'll regret. Less intrusive is LegoGPT, whereby you can design a structure from a text prompt and then build it on your kitchen table. And you can now consult the Code Smells Catalog when you catch a whiff of "something's not right here." Finally, Google has created DolphinGemma, a language model trained on dolphin vocalizations. We can't wait to find out what they're saying. ("Thanks for all the fish," maybe?)
