Google, once a leader in unleashing the latest innovation in tech, is struggling to make a dent in the generative AI landscape. The giant is slowly slipping its position with many of its talents exiting the firm and rivals unleashing exciting new AI products and services – the likes of GPT-4 Turbo by OpenAI and Meta’s generative AI ad features.

It’s not that the tech giant is not trying. Recently, Google rolled out a bunch of generative AI features to enhance its search experience for the world and advertisers. In FY23 Q3, the company recorded a whopping $59.65 revenue from the advertising business and Search out of the $76.69 billion in total revenue.

Google chief Sundar Pichai also emphasised how ads will ‘play an important role’ in the new search experience, and help in increasing the revenue multifolds in the coming months.

Even though Pichai has not missed a chance to call Google an ‘AI-first’ company, his actions speak otherwise. There is this other side to Google, where it is struggling to keep up with the human-mimicking technology, and busy criticising others instead.

One summer, the company dealt with the ‘Is LaMDA sentient?’ mess and the next summer, it lost $102 billion in market value after Bard answered a basic general knowledge question inaccurately during the live public demo.

The company, which is a household name on the internet, has been scrambling to play catch up in delivering AI products. And now, there is a lot of expectation from Gemini, which the tech giant is expected to roll out in a phased manner next year.

Tiger Tyagarajan, the long-standing CEO of Genpact, is gearing up for his retirement, and the news is making waves in the corporate world. Serving as the company’s CEO since 2011, he led Genpact through a remarkable period of growth.

Under his leadership, the company evolved into a major industry player with annual revenues exceeding $4.3 billion in 2022, thanks to innovative strategies leveraging data and technology.

“To call it work is not the way I saw it… it was life, a life full of unbelievable learnings, driven by a hyper-curious team,” said Tiger in his LinkedIn post. “It’s very rare in life to have the opportunity to be part of the creation of “an industry”, “an economic trajectory”, and establish the way businesses are run, and the way work is done today.”
